Ideas for kid-friendly outings in Bordeaux

The historic center

Start the day with a stroll through downtown Bordeaux. You'll discover a multitude of small squares where it's pleasant to stroll. It's also a good time to appreciate the cobblestone streets and stone facades. Place de la Bourse, Place Pey Berland, Place Saint Pierre or Place Fernand Lafargue... Take the time to stroll through these little streets to discover restaurants and independent boutiques.

Le Parc Bordelais

Popular in fine weather, the Bordeaux park is one of the largest green and wooded areas close to the city center. For a picnic, birthday party, afternoon tea or simply a stroll, it offers a relaxing atmosphere, play areas, merry-go-rounds, a farm with animals and a refreshment area. The refreshment area is very popular with children, offering refreshing drinks, ice creams, pancakes and waffles! In summer, however, you'll need to be patient, as it can get crowded.

The quays of Bordeaux

Ideal for young and old alike to let off steam! With its beautiful straight lines, it's a popular playground for scooters, bikes, rollerblades and other rolling machines. Skate parks, playgrounds, merry-go-rounds and restaurants have been set up all along the quays to delight families. The best place to start is at the Miroir d'Eau, where you can admire the beautiful Place de la Bourse. Children can have fun while cooling off... Remember to bring a towel and a change of clothes!

Family Concerts are a great way to democratize classical music for young ears! One Sunday a month, families can attend a performance from an early age. Each concert is organized around a work, a composer or a story. The best part? A small snack at the end of the performance, for an extra moment of conviviality and sharing with the artists.

Kids Friendly restaurants in Bordeaux (H2)

The General Store in Darwin

There's nothing like brunch to start the day off right! Let's head for this former barracks, now rehabilitated as a hybrid place where businesses, associations and neighborhood life cohabit. Le Magasin Général is the restaurant located in this environment, where everything has been designed with families in mind, from the quality of the organic, local and accessible menu, to the facilities with high chairs and changing tables, to the areas with a tent equipped with games and a skate park in a nearby hangar.
> Le Magasin Général at Darwin, 87 Quai des Queyries Bâtiment Nord, 33100 Bordeaux

La Maison du Glacier

The Maison du Glacier offers a wide variety of organic and vegan ice creams in authentic and original flavors. It's possible to eat on the spot, but as the terrace is often overcrowded, you'll probably have to make do with a bench, or even the street! But rest assured, the tasting is well worth it.
> La Maison du Glacier, 1 Pl. Saint-Pierre, 33000 Bordeaux
