Moses basket, cradle, co-sleeper and convertible cot: which one is right for you?
Dear parents-to-be, you may be feeling overwhelmed by this significant yet oh-so-important choice for fostering the precious sleep of your baby-to-be... Moses basket, cradle, co-sleeper, convertible cot? What's what? Don't panic! Let yourself be guided by this overview of all the options available to you and their respective advantages
Baby sleep
Newborns sleep an enormous amount, and this continues for several months. At birth, baby can sleep up to 18 hours a day! It is in their bed that they will spend most of their time and gradually begin to discover the world before your amazed eyes. Every parent then wonders which accessory will suit them best according to their habits and daily routine. Not easy! What is important to highlight is that little ones move from a confined environment (their mother's womb) to the big wide world, and this transition is inevitably unsettling. Newborns need to feel wrapped in a space that is comfortable, snug and suited to their small size, in order to best recall the sensations they had when they were warm and safe... So, between the moses basket, the cradle, the co-sleeper and the convertible cot, you may be wondering: what to choose? We're here to help!
The KUKO moses basket... Nomadic!
The KUKO moses basket has many advantages. The first being its elegance and design, allowing it to blend into any interior. The second advantage, and by no means a minor one, is that our moses basket is small and ultra lightweight. It can therefore be easily carried from room to room. You can even take it everywhere with you thanks to its small handles.
Third advantage: its safety! The inside of the cover is breathable and therefore safe for little ones. Last but not least, the KUKO moses basket is a space designed like a cocoon. Thanks to its narrow sides, it reminds baby of the confined world of their mother's womb. They feel wrapped up and therefore soothed... KUKO is used from birth up to 4 months. After that, it can become a wonderful bed for dolls, soft toys and other small playthings!
It pairs with: a wooden stand to transform it into a cradle with an ergonomic design for a gentle rocking motion...
For whom? Newborns from 0 to approximately 4 months.
Advantages: Lightweight, easily transportable around the home and outdoors, very reassuring for baby thanks to its small size.
The KUMI cradle.... Soothing!
Lightweight, mobile, beautifully designed and open to the world, the KUMI cradle is one of our iconic pieces. Did you know? The word "cradle" comes from the act of rocking — a sleep technique that has been around for centuries. Rocking is thought to recall the heartbeat that baby heard in their mother's womb. Our KUMI cradle was designed as a cosy nest with a gentle lateral rocking motion. Its little original touch is that it does not have bars like a classic cradle, but laces that parents choose from a wide range of colours. When you receive your parcel, we invite you to lace the cords yourself, as if you were crafting the nest for your little one. A deeply symbolic gesture, and a safe one too. This way, baby cannot get a leg or an arm trapped. KUMI is open to the outside thanks to a transparent fabric, ideal for keeping an eye on them (and vice versa), and it is so lightweight that it can be moved to any room in the house.
For whom? Newborns from 0 to approximately 6 months.
Advantages: The rocking motion and its cosy nest feel that relaxes baby and encourages sleep.
It pairs with: The canopy and bed drapes as well as a wheel kit available as an option.
The KODO co-sleeper... Closeness guaranteed!
The World Health Organisation recommends the practice of co-sleeping during the first 6 months of a baby's life. And for good reason — this age-old practice is packed with benefits!
Sleeping close to your newborn meets their need for attachment; they can smell you, hear your breathing, and this inevitably soothes them... For you it is also a great advantage, as you can respond to their needs quickly: ideal for breastfeeding as well as bottle feeding. The advantage of our KODO is that it is beautifully designed and elegant (a rarity in this field!), it adapts to all parental beds and above all it is ultra secure. Because yes, co-sleeping does require certain precautions to prevent the risk of falling or crushing. It requires a safety barrier on the parents' bed side of at least 15 cm. Of course, our lovely KODO is equipped with this and meets all safety standards. Finally, when baby grows and moves into their own room, we have thought of everything: the KODO bed transforms into a cosy little bench for children.

For whom? Newborns from 0 to approximately 6 months.
Advantages: Makes nights easier, reassures your little one and grows with them — KODO transforms into a child's bench seat!
It pairs with: the fitted sheet and mattress protector KODO and the cushions for the bench conversion.
The KIMI baby cot... Durable!
Big brother of the KUMI cradle, the KIMI baby cot is also made from untreated beech wood. It takes over from 6 months up to approximately 5 years. To accompany your child for so long, the KIMI cot has the ability to transform.
First as a closed baby cot (then open) from 6 months to around 2 years. Designed like KIMI, it is a reassuring cocoon, open to the outside thanks to a transparent mesh fabric laced on the sides. It may seem like a small detail to you, but these laces bring both a design touch and a real safety advantage compared to classic wooden bars, in which a child can get a limb trapped or use them as a foothold to climb over the side of the cot. To maximise the deep, restorative sleep we wish for every child, the KIMI cot is fitted with a mattress and a mattress topper, making it ultra comfortable.
When your child is old enough to sleep without protection, remove one of the sides of the cot and it evolves into a lovely open bed. So that this transition happens in complete safety, we have thought of everything with a foam bed guard Bumper: no falling out during the night! Your KIMI will be with you until age 5 and even beyond for moments of relaxation — resting, reading stories, playing...

For whom? Little ones from 6 months up to approximately 5 years.
Advantages: Durable, adaptable, practical
It pairs with: the KIMI canopy and bed canopy, and the fitted sheets.
How to choose your mattress?
Indeed, as you may have noticed, all our cots are available in two versions: foam made from soya or coconut fibre, quilted with natural wool. Whatever your choice, our mattresses are all manufactured in Europe or in France and above all 100% comfortable and safe for little ones.
