Charlie Crane x Modetrotter: the most grahou collab of the season! 🐆
How did you get the idea and the desire to collaborate together?
Thomas Lépine: For several years now we have been offering textile collaborations on our iconic products, in particular the LEVO bouncer. We have collaborated with several brands we love, mainly from the maternity and early childhood world, such as Louise Misha, Lucas du Tertre, Rose in April or Garbo & Friends… But this year, we really wanted to step off the beaten path by turning to more adult brands, in décor or fashion. The girls on the team are fans of Modetrotter and immediately mentioned the brand during our office brainstorming sessions.

Marie Courroy: It's a brand that already had my eye when I was pregnant. I dreamed of having one of their bouncers for my daughter. That wish came true, and since then it's a brand I genuinely love. When Marie, Charlie Crane's Communications Manager, suggested we do something together, I said "yes" spontaneously.
How did the meeting between Modetrotter and Charlie Crane come about?
Thomas Lépine: It so happened that we had already given Marie Courroy some little chairs for her children, so we were already in touch on Instagram. We pitched her the idea of a collaboration one Friday evening at 6:40 pm. By 6:45 pm, she had replied that she was totally on board!
What were your desires when imagining this collaboration?
Marie Courroy: I wanted a print that wasn't too "cutesy," not too babyish. A print I could have worn myself, with a little touch of fluorescent for fun. Something that would be beautiful to look at. We chose leopard! Animal print always works. I wanted it dressed up with a hint of fluorescent orange, as that's very Modetrotter. I wanted a print that would be different from Charlie Crane's usual collections.
Thomas Lépine: We offered Marie two options: leopard or fluorescent, in an 80s spirit. She managed to combine both with her usual talent! We love the result — at once elegant, versatile and undeniably sharp.

What other decorative objects should you pair with the Modetrotter X Charlie Crane collaboration?
Marie Courroy: In the kids' room, I have a Pierre Frey wallpaper that I love. I like mixing prints in children's rooms — leopard and illustrated wallpaper for little ones. I absolutely love comfort toys, obviously, with Jellycat being the best, or Big Stuffed. I adore giant soft toys — they're my childhood madeleine.
Thomas Lépine: An orange TOGO sofa, obviously! And why not a smoked glass coffee table on a long-pile white rug, nice and fluffy.
What do you love about Modetrotter and Charlie Crane?
Thomas Lépine: Travel-related inspirations. Shoots in all four corners of the world… Modetrotter is a wardrobe you want to wear whether at a dinner with friends in Paris, on a road trip across the USA, on holiday in Cap Ferret or with girlfriends in Bamako.
Marie Courroy: I love their bouncer, their wall-mounted changing table, and I'm discovering their children's bed that my daughter recently adopted. I also used their bouncer and I have two adorable little chairs. I love the timelessness of their products. They are simple, effective and beautiful.
By the way Marie, how did you choose your children's names with your partner Edouard?
Marie Courroy: I absolutely wanted a girl whose name would be Java. Édouard had another name in mind, and neither of us would give in. We ended up drawing lots and… I won! For Robinson, I had a flash of inspiration and fell in love with the name. Really like a flash while coming back from the market one day, it came all at once. And Édouard, who didn't really have any idea in mind, said yes straight away.
How old are your children today? Do they use Charlie Crane products on a daily basis?
Marie Courroy: My daughter is 3 and a half. She uses the single bed and absolutely loves it. My son is 2 and he spends his time relaxing in the bouncer, as if it were a sun lounger, with the little duvet over his legs. Really chilled out!

Marie, with Edouard, what would you like to pass on to your children?
Marie Courroy: Kindness, taking care of others and loving yourself.
Marie, if you could give one single piece of advice to the first-time mother you once were, someone who had never had a child, what would it be?
Marie Courroy: Thank God, you can be very happy without children!
What is the Proustian madeleine that takes you back to childhood?
Marie Courroy: Scents. They awaken my best memories.
Thomas Lépine: At Charlie, it's the children of tomorrow who inspire us the most, so we look toward the future:)
Thank you to Marie and Thomas! The collaboration consists of the LEVO bouncer, the TOBO high chair cushion, and the KUKO moses basket.
