How did the meeting between Louise Misha and Charlie Crane come about?

Marie Pidancet: Our communities are very close — we have two universes that exist side by side, notably because they both cater to little ones and advocate a lifestyle filled with gentleness. I was already very familiar with Charlie Crane, so there was a mutual enthusiasm that led to a first meeting. I was pleasantly surprised by the brand's story, which, like Louise Misha's, is full of spontaneity. Moreover, things clicked immediately with Thomas Lépine, the founder of Charlie Crane.

Thomas Lépine: It's all our communications manager's fault! She saw on Instagram that Marie, the founder of Louise Misha, was expecting a baby. She seized this opportunity to offer her some products and introduce her to Charlie Crane. She then insisted that Marie and I meet.

For my part, I only knew Louise Misha by name — I hadn't quite realized the enthusiasm this brand inspires…

Marie and I met over a coffee in their stunning showroom. We hit it off straight away! First of all, we're neighbors. But most importantly, many things in our entrepreneurial journeys resonate with each other. We also share many common values, such as producing in the most responsible way possible. And both our brands celebrated their 10th anniversary this year!

How did you get the idea and the desire to collaborate together?

Marie Pidancet: During that meeting, we very quickly talked about the desire to blend our two universes — it felt like an obvious match and the natural starting point for this collaboration. I could easily picture our bohemian prints enhanced by Charlie Crane's clean, minimalist furniture.

Thomas Lépine: Our areas of expertise are highly complementary. Charlie Crane makes furniture and Louise Misha makes textiles. Working together quickly felt like an obvious fit! At Charlie Crane, we love imagining collaborations with brands that have strong universes and push us to step outside the world of baby products, to break even further with the codes of pink and baby blue.

How long does it take to carry out a collaboration like this one?

Marie Pidancet: A little over a year passed between our decision to launch this collaboration and the finalization of the collection. We started by choosing the print that would adorn the furniture, then came the prototyping, manufacturing, photoshoots for communication materials… in which we actually included my son, who I was pregnant with at the start of the process, and who can now test the finished products: perfect timing!

Thomas Lépine: I can confirm! From our first exchanges to the launch of the collaboration, a year went by. In the meantime, we chose the print, produced several prototypes, coordinated factories and our teams — and on top of that, we had to factor in a significant delivery lead time given a particular context.

What were your inspirations for the collection?

Marie Pidancet: The four creations in this collection were inspired by the conviction that every detail matters when it comes to raising a child in a world of gentleness and helping to awaken their senses: the meeting of our bohemian, colorful universe with Charlie Crane's soft, minimalist universe allows us to convey this vision.

Which Louise Misha print did you choose to dress the Charlie Crane furniture and why?

Marie Pidancet: The chosen pattern is called Blue Cream Flowers — it's a vintage-inspired floral print from a past winter collection that had been very successful. We had shown several iconic prints to the Charlie Crane team, who fell for this one. When it was first released, it had been used across many children's outfits, childcare accessories, and home items. So we decided to bring these pieces back for the collaboration, to bring a whole universe to life around this beloved print!

Thomas Lépine: We chose Blue Cream Flowers because we loved its slightly vintage prints that gently "wake up" our products for little ones. We fell for its warm colors, perfect for cocooning winter babies!

Marie, what do you love about the Charlie Crane universe?

I love surrounding myself with beautiful things. For me, it's very important that the objects and clothes in our everyday life are joyful and inspiring. Charlie Crane embodies the desire to make beautiful the objects that take on such an important place in our home when a baby arrives. An instant favorite of course for the iconic bouncer, which I was lucky enough to have even before this collaboration began!
