Sleeping close to your baby is an age-old practice that allows the whole family to enjoy more peaceful sleep. Sharing their room with their little one reassures parents and makes nighttime wake-ups less difficult, particularly for feeding. Better rested, mothers naturally produce more milk — which promotes breastfeeding.
Co-sleeping strengthens the infant's attachment to their parents and meets their physiological needs. For all these reasons, the practice of co-sleeping is recommended by the WHO until the child is 6 months old.

Safety Focus

The benefits of co-sleeping… safely

Sleeping next to your baby is highly recommended. It is good for the baby as it meets their need for attachment in the first weeks, and it soothes and facilitates their sleep. For parents, it also offers many advantages, including the ability to easily respond to the baby's needs, to facilitate breastfeeding and bottle feeding, and to avoid becoming too tired.

However, sleeping with your baby can present two significant risks, often underestimated by parents: the risk of rolling onto the baby during sleep, and the risk of the baby falling and/or becoming trapped between the co-sleeper and the parents' bed. To prevent accidents, all co-sleepers must be equipped with a safety barrier on the parents' bed side at least 15 cm high. Our KODO of course meets this standard. If you find co-sleepers for sale that are not equipped with one (which is unfortunately the case), be aware that they do not comply with European safety standards and should be withdrawn from the market.
