Thomas Lépine, the founder of Charlie Crane, and his wife Mathilde Toulot set off to Senegal on holiday. At the time, they were expecting their second baby. They checked into a beachside hotel, where cows and a few tourists wandered about. Every day, at breakfast and dinner, a magnificent bird strolled peacefully between the tables and greeted the visitors. It seemed completely at home.
On closer inspection, this majestic mascot with its long legs and sun-kissed crest was a crowned crane. Its name? Charlie!
2022
Charlie Crane is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
A decade that has enabled the growth of this young French brand, now an essential player in the international childcare market.
For the occasion, Mathilde wrote a tribute to the brand created by her husband. She looks back on their encounter with Charlie the crane in Senegal. Surrounded by Thomas and their three children, she invents a story full of twists and tenderness, recounting the adventures of Charlie — the magical bird who gave them wings.
